I had a wonderful stay at this charming Japanese house. The room was spacious and the tatami mats made for a comfortable night's sleep. The bathroom had everything I needed and more, including toiletries and even bobby pins! The host was helpful and accommodating, allowing us to check in early. The location was great, with a cute neighborhood feel and just a short walk to major streets. I highly recommend Kyomachiya Inn Rakuoan for a true Japanese experience.

Located in a quiet but convenient neighborhood, the accommodation is in close proximity to everything, including the famous Gion district. The tiny yet cozy room has all necessary facilities, including a well-equipped bathroom and a fully kitted kitchen. Guests can witness the craftsmen's works in the neighborhood.
The signage needs to be more visible to find the location easily.

Great Japanese-style house to stay in, with tatami mats, futons, and a quaint atmosphere. Location is close to popular tourist spots and transportation. The kitchen was a nice touch, in addition to the bathroom, which included a traditional bathtub.
The house was not well maintained and had a musty smell. The noise from the street was very loud and kept us up at night.

Can't fault the property in any way.

We stayed at a Japanese house during the New Year period. The bathroom was amazing and Japanese-style. the communication was great before the check-in. It was a quiet place, perfect for sleeping after a busy day of sightseeing. The house was located near public transportation and had great access to the city's main attractions.
The house and kitchen area were small, not like the pictures online. It was also a bit far from the main street and the subway station.
Tourists from New Zealand often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
